Cynthia Lockhart is an acclaimed art-quilter, a popular exhibitor, and the recipient of many awards. Her creations feature vibrant colors and curvilinear shapes and are inspired by her African heritage, her love of music and dance, and her faith and family. Ms. Lockhart generously shares her expertise as a teacher, lecturer, curator, juror, and mentor. A high point in her artistic life was the acquisition in 2022 of her Created to Be Me quilt by the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s Renwick Gallery.
