Bring your mending work with you to stitch and repair with others. Make new friends and maybe even learn something new!

We'll have some extra mending tools and notions on hand that you can use to repair your own items.

We aim to raise awareness about extending the life of your garments to reduce the harmful impacts of fast fashion culture.

Our next Second Saturdays @ the Guild Fiber Arts M

Our next Second Saturdays @ the Guild Fiber Arts Market is on May 11, 10-2. We are skipping April due to a previously scheduled workshop at the Guild House.

Finished up a fun Stashbuster Scarf class today.

Finished up a fun Stashbuster Scarf class today. The students learned how to create a harmonious mixed warp, and how to direct warp it onto a rigid heddle loom. In the first session last week, we played with yarn stashes, sorting them many different ways by using principles of color theory. Then we examined the fibers and other qualities of the yarn in order to figure out what would make a great scarf. The students made wraps and mini looms to sample choices and then went away for a week to think about it. Today they came back and learned a modified direct warping technique to design in the reed. Can't wait to see the finished scarves!

Thanks to the folks who stopped our Second Saturdays at the Guild yesterday to shop for artisan-made fiber art and participate in our Make It Take It mini session yesterday to weave a small wall hanging.

The fiber arts market will not be open the second Saturday of April due to a previously scheduled workshop in the Guild House. Our next one will be Saturday May 11, just in time for Mother's Day!

Fibercations That Sing, an exhibition by renowned

Fibercations That Sing, an exhibition by renowned art-quilter Cynthia Lockhart, is on display through April 14, 2024, in the gallery of the Weavers Guild of Greater Cincinnati (4870 Gray Road, 45232). The show is open to the public on Feb. 17 (noon-3 p.m.), Mar. 9 (noon-3 p.m.), and Mar. 16 (noon-3 p.m.).
Ms. Lockhart will teach one-day workshops on art-quilting techniques Saturday, April 13, and Sunday, April 14.
