Learn the basics of double weave in this one-day class! Participants will weave a sampler that explores weaving two layers of cloth on a 4-shaft loom in a variety of techniques: tube, side opening, center opening, double wide, color-and-weave effects, and double-weave pick-up.
We will be using the 4-shaft Guild looms at the Weavers Guild and students are required to have them warped according to the emailed instructions prior to the workshop. (Abby moderates the Saturday Weavers Study Group which will meet on the Saturday before the class and will be able to assist in warping the loom if needed.) Some yarn will be provided but feel free to bring from your stash.
Students need to bring:
- Scissors
- Shuttles
- Tapestry needle
- Yarn
- Lunch and beverages (A refrigerator and microwave are available for use.)
