In this introductory class, students will learn one of the simplest techniques – threaded in pattern. We will cover the basics of reading a pattern draft, measuring a warp, threading the cards, starting and ending wefts, and managing selvedges. Participants will be using inkle looms provided by the instructor; however, there will be a demonstration of how to weave with tablets on other small looms, in a warp weighted or back strap set up, to illustrate other ways to weave with cards. This is an introductory class and no weaving experience is required.
