Next Steps…Handwoven Laces (Loom Controlled)

Saturdays, April 6, April 20, and May 4 2024, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Class limit: 6

Material fees. $5.00 for handouts.

Skills needed: Independently warp a loom and read drafts.

Here’s a chance to study a few loom controlled laces like Atwater-Bronson Lace or Huck Lace. These are controlled groupings of warp and weft floats that can create open areas to produce a lacy look.

Information and/or materials will available at 1st class and you will use your own loom to set up and weave your sampler by the second class. If you need to use a guild loom when the house is open, contact the instructor before the first day of class. At the 2nd class we will discuss your sampler along with any questions you have. Then the instructor will help you plan a project to be completed by the third class. At 3rd class we will discuss your project and offer ideas for future projects.

We will be using the book “Next Steps in Weaving” by Patti Graver as a resource for this class.

If you are not feeling well, please contact the instructor instead of coming to the class. On a case-by-case basis, we may be able to reschedule you into a future class or provide a make-up lesson. Ticket fees are not normally refunded.

Depending on the CDC guidelines for Hamilton County at the time the class is held, a mask may be required. If so, you will be notified before the first class.

Fees are non-refundable. Your fee will only be refunded if the class is canceled or changed to a different date. Three registrations are required for a class to be held. Students will be notified before the start date if a class is canceled due to an insufficient number of students. Eventbrite processing and credit card payment fees will not be refunded if a student cancels for any reason.
