Learn about Swedish Weaving in this Round Robin workhop. You will weave a variety of traditional Swedish fabric samples suitable for tablecloths, runners, rugs, towels, curtains, and bedspreads. Some of the samples are turned rosepath, lace, plain weave checks, rep, a Swedish snowflake, fancy twills, and honeycomb, to name a few. Setts range from 8 epi (Krokbragd) to 80 epi (40 doubled ends for rep.) Students will weave with cottons and some linen and wool. You will need to bring your pre-warped floor or table loom to the Guild for this workshop, as well as your lunch and beverages. (A refrigerator and microwave are available to use.)

Materials fee includes:

  • Notebook with the drafts, treadlings, extensive bibliography, notes
  • Pre-wound warp
  • Pre-wound bobbins required for draft weft to make samples before workshop
  • All the warp and weft threads
  • Pre-workshop packets will be shipped to the Guild and distributed prior to the workshop

About Deb Todhunter: Deb has always been interested in all things textile. After taking copious weaving workshops on a variety of subjects, she offered to develop a class for her local guild. That was 17 years and about 14 workshop topics ago. Starting out as a librarian, she enjoys the research, learnng about the structures, and most of all, sharing that knowledge with others. The resource materials she has created are meant to be used, referenced, and serve as a jumping off point for the student’s further exploration. There’s always something new to learn and discover, and so much to share with other weavers!
