Skill Level: Advanced Beginner to Intermediate Weaver – must be able to warp own loom

Workshop Limit: 17

Chair: Melissa Lusk

Deborah has developed many popular round-robin workshops to help weavers experience multiple weave structures in just days of weaving.  This blue and white stripe workshop will include plain weave, twill, canvas weave, and huck lace. The extensive student notebook will include all the drafts and a place for your personal samples at the end of the workshop.  Student notebooks  will cover ways to take a draft and add stripes in pleasing proportions, including where to put a colored stripe in a fancy twill.  The workshop notebook that Deborah provides is beautiful and the perfect companion for this wonderfully organized round-robin workshop.

About the Instructor: Deborah Todhunter has been teaching weaving workshops on a diverse range of topics: Shadow Weave, the Miniature Overshot of Estes and Hayes, Swedish structures, and checked fabrics. She also knits, tats, and makes bobbin lace — interests that all started at a young age — and spinning came later! Debbie enjoys researching structures, ferreting out obscure resources, and sharing the knowledge with her students.

Paying for this workshop by check is possible, but you must contact the Chair, Melissa Lusk, to arrange registration. Please note that your check must be received within 10 business days of registration.

Cancellation Policies Regarding Student Fees

  • If teacher or Guild cancels workshop – full refund to all registered and cancelled students. Generally, the teacher or the Guild may cancel the workshop three (3) or more weeks before the workshop start date. This is stipulated in the contract but can be flexible if both parties agree. Eventbrite processing and service fees will not be refunded if, for some reason, a registrant is unable to attend.
  • If a registered student wishes to cancel, s/he must:
    • Contact the Workshop Chair
    • If canceling thirty (30) or more days before workshop start date, student receives a refund of the workshop fee minus a $50 cancellation fee and the Eventbrite processing and service fees.
    • Cancel twenty-nine (29) or fewer days before the workshop start date
      • Refund workshop fee minus $50 cancelation fee only if vacant spot is filled by another person (from waitlist or otherwise). Eventbrite processing and service fees will not be refunded.
      • No refund if spot remains vacant.
  • Registered student may independently find someone to take his/her place at the workshop with no extra fees involved as long as no cancellation is performed through EventBrite. Workshop Chair MUST be notified. In this situation, the primary registered student is responsible for all fees, passing on information to their replacement, etc.
