Paper Clay Sculpting

Let your creativity come out to play. Learn to weave and wrap an armature in wire, paper, and foil. Learn about cellulose clay as well as beginning sculpting skills, and then how to paint your sculpture using a layering technique. Your imagination is your only limitation!
Student Supply List:
Week 1: Making Armatures
- Empty plastic medicine bottles, spice bottles, etc, up to 4″ tall
- 1″ roll of masking tape
- Package of 18 gauge galvanized steel wire
- Heavy card stock (recycled junk mail)
- Scissors
Week 2: Sculpting
- Plastic water containter with plastic lids to use as palette (i.e. 8 oz. cleaned sour cream container)
- Paper towels
- Painting apron or smock
Week 3: Painting and Sealing
- Several acrylic paint brushes, sizes 1/2″, 1/4″ smaller detail round brushes
- Plastic container with plastic lids to use as palette
- Paper towels
- Painting apron or smock

- Clay
- Sculpting tools
- Aluminum foil
- Parchment paper
- Acrylic clay rollers
- Acrylic paint, gesso, sealer
- Waterproof board
- Wax paper
- Face/hand molds

The instructor asks that you self administer a home COVID-19 test before the first class. Depedning on local transmission rates, a mask may be required.
Your fee will be refunded if the class is canceled or changed to a different date. Three registrations are required for a class to be held. Students will be notified before the start date if a class is canceled due to an insufficient number of students. Eventbrite processing and credit card payment fees will not be refunded if a student cancels for any reason.
