Repairing your own clothing will save money and the environment. Visible mending is a creative way to make your favorite garments last longer. Fast fashion takes a huge toll on factory workers in developing countries as well as the environment. Americans buy and discard clothes at an alarming rate and learning a few basic mending techniques cam slow down our consumption. Plus…it’s fun!
Students should bring a pair of scissors and clothes that need a patch – small holes, large holes – whatever you’ve got! The clothes can be knit or woven and of any fabric. The instructor will supply needles, threads, and fabrics for patches.
