Class limit: 8
Experience level: Beginner mender, must be comfortable knitting
Please note mask policy below for this class.**
In this class, we will dive into three methods for mending knits: Scotch Darning (weaving based), Swiss Darning (duplicate stitch), and the Knitted Patch. You will need to know how to knit for this class and I will provide swatches that we will use to learn the techniques. I will provide everything that you need! You are also welcome to bring a sweater that needs mending and the yarn you’d like to use on it. I recommend a large-gauge sweater in a light or medium color as your first repair.
This class will last two hours with a third hour as optional work time. Bring a lunch if you plan on staying; there are a microwave and refrigerator at the Guild house.
Materials: Instructor will provide knit swatches, yarn, yarn needles, double point knitting needles, and scissors for you to use during the class. You’ll go home with your swatches. If you bring a sweater to mend, please bring the yarn or thread you would like to use on it.
