Optional class: Learn to Warp a Rigid Heddle loom before taking the Freestyle Weaving or Woven Shibori Summer Camp classes.

Dates: Monday July 22, 2024 from 1-4 pm. Ticket: $40. Instructor: Nancy Niemeyer. Materials fee: $0 – $10. Skills Needed: no experience needed. Class Limit: 6

This is an optional class for beginners who are taking the Rigid Heddle Loom – Woven Shibori class or the Freestyle Weaving class and need instruction on how to prepare the loom for one of those classes. In this class you can use the teacher’s rigid heddle loom, learn to warp the loom, weave a couple inches to prepare it for class then take the Rigid Heddle-Woven Shibori class on Tuesday and Friday OR the Freestyle Weaving Class on Wednesday. Looms will be provided. You must register for those classes separately on Eventbrite or by using one of the following links:

Supplies to Bring:

  • If you are registering for Rigid Heddle – Woven Shibori class the teacher will provide warp and weft materials for $10 payable in class to the teacher. Cash or check only accepted.
  • If you are registering for the Freestyle Weaving Class there is no material fee since you will provide your own yarn for warp. Bring a 100 gram ball (around 3.5 to 4 ounces) of worsted weight yarn (medium-4) in a plain color that you love in a medium value. The yarn can be acrylic, wool or a blend. (Some examples are Paton’s Classic Wool or Lion Brand Wool Ease and can be found at Michaels or JOANN.)
